Homemade Pickles

Ingredients

3-4 - Pickling Cucumbers

2 - Garlic Cloves

2 - Dill Sprigs (or 1 tsp dried dill)

2 cups - Water

2 cups - Distilled White Vinegar

1/4 cup - Cane Sugar

2 tbsp - Sea Salt



Optional Additives:

2 tsp - Mustard Seeds

1 tsp - Peppercorns

Preparation

1. Prep 1 large mason jar or 2 medium mason jars. Wash and dry them thoroughly.

2.Cut cucumbers vertically to make spears. (Cut in half vertically, then cut in half again).

3. Divide Divide cucumbers, garlic, dill and any other additives evenly among jars.

4. In a medium saucepan, heat the water, vinegar, sugar, and salt over medium heat. Stir until dissolved.

4. Allow liquid mixture to cool slightly (1-2 minutes) then pour over cucumbers. Submerge cucumbers entirely.

5. Place lids on jars but wait for jars to cool completely prior to placing in the fridge.

6. Pickle spears for 2-6 days. The longer they sit, the more flavor will develop. (Fresh for 3 weeks)
